Yet another tumblelog by yours truly. And I promise, I won’t delete this one in a mere matter of hours. I have awesome plans for this site.
New Fractal by George Toledo:
This is an example of a new type of fractal concept using one of a great variety of settings that it’s capable of producing.
George and AJ is a short film-cum-animatic that, until today, was only officially available as an extra with the iTunes release of Up that was released online by Pixar.
Like Burn-E or Jack Jack Attack before it, this is a side story to the main narrative of the associated feature film, in this case featuring Shady Oaks caretakers George and AJ dealing with the aftermath of Carl’s big escape.
Procrastination by John Kelly
Today, Google is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street with a special Big Bird logo in the US. But, in the UK, Google is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wallace and Gromit, the main characters in a series of beautiful British animated films. The pair appear on Google’s homepage with Wallace looking through a magnifying glass, which forms an “o” and Gromit drinking a cup of tea while holding a spanner, which forms the “l” in Google. Insert Coin is an interesting animated short film by vurup.
Rian Johnson, director of The Brothers Bloom:
This is a very crude animatic of the opening childhood sequence from The Brothers Bloom that I created early in the pre-production process. As will be immediately and humiliatingly evident, I did all the voices myself. The artwork consists of storyboards by the very talented Daniele Auber, and it was all put together on my laptop in Final Cut Pro.
The official Toy Story 3 theatrical trailer was released to the public, and it looks awesome.
Warning: If you grew up with Toy Story, you’ll be sobbing like a baby.
